Hi, Ladies! It’s been a long time since I’ve posted anything (I think since Levi’s birth), but I have been lurking and reading everyone’s stories! I’m so glad to see that all of the babies are growing and thriving!
Mr. Levi is doing well! He’s a super-sweet baby…..he only cries when he’s really hungry, and he has a very predictable 3-4 hour eating schedule (knock on wood!). We had issues straight away with latching, so honestly, I just surrendered to the pump. I really want him to have BM, and didn’t want to fight with latching/sleepy baby/milk isn’t coming out fast enough issues! I had to go back to work after 8 weeks anyway, so it just worked out. AND to add to my BF’ing issues, my oldest son, Luke, who was my micropreemie, was hospitalized back in October through Halloween. He contracted his first bout of croup, and it nearly killed him! His throat swelled shut, and they had to intubate him for 2 days. It was so scary!!! So, I was away from Levi when he was only 5 weeks old for an entire week to stay in the hospital with Luke. Luke was hospitalized again last month with bronchitis, but it was a much shorter stay (over the weekend), and thus far he has been fairing well. These have been our first real *at home* issues with Luke, and he’s nearly 2. I’m thankful for that, but would love nothing more than for those issues to go away! Apparently, Luke has a narrowed airway, which we did not know about. It is due to his intubation as a preemie. Luke has always battled reflux (and still does), which is not helping with his narrowed airway, so we will be seeing a GI specialist in February to deal with that.
I have gone back to work, and while I miss my boys, I need the break away. They are 18 months apart, so things can get a little crazy around our house!!! :) I love every minute of it, though!
I hope everyone has a very Merry, Safe, and Healthy Holiday Season!!! We surely are blessed :)
