My grandmother bought one for Oscar when he was 5, and he didn't start really playing with it until he was almost 7, when a) he was older, and b) we got a Lego Star Wars game which capitalized on two of his other fandoms. We end up mostly using it for long car rides, though, because it still doesn't really hold his interest as well as other things.

I have the same problem with my almost 5yo. I find the one she can manage best is nintendogs. She likes to feed, bath and walk the dogs.

My nephews loved Donkey Kong and Mario brothers. I think I remember them playing them as young as 5 or 6. Not sure if a girl would like them, though. They are fairly easy, and even if you don't catch many rings or whatever you can keep playing.

My parents bought Carly (5 1/2) a dsi for Christmas. We have bought and rented a few different games but they all seem pretty difficult for her. Any suggestions on good/easy games for a 5 year old? She gets so frustrated and upset with what we have and Lord knows I am not able to figure them out (which leaves me feeling pretty old BTW). We currently have a games where she takes care of a baby, Hannah Montana, and Littlest Pet Shop. TIA!
