Hi Julia,

I've not heard of anybody having protein in their urine for that long unless there was some kind of kidney dysfunction or disease. It's also possible you had that much before pregnancy and didn't know it. A nephrologist would be able to help you sort that out, preferably one that specializes in high risk pregnancies.

Keep us posted!

Warm wishes,

Protein in urine postpartum

Postby julia.clements-roche » Mon Feb 01, 2016 02:38 pm

Hello, I was wondering if anyone else has had this postpartum and for how long?

I'm ten months after the birth of my daughter and my second pre-eclamptic pregnancy. I still have protein in my urine although it seems to be coming down each month. I'm on no medication still - I wasn't before pregnancy. My kidneys and liver are fine, I've had various tests and ultrasounds.

Anyone else had this and how long until it went?
