I so remember those days. Alex had ear infections from 5 months old until 10 months old straight. Luckily, right at the time they decided to recommended tubes he grew enough that his ears changed shape and the infections stopped (and he has had 2 ear infections since then in 4 years).

We are having the tubes put in next week[:(]. I know exactly how you feel, Parker had ear infections every two weeks, like clockwork all winter long[B)]. I'll let you know how it goes.

Ear Infections Again

Postby iansmom » Thu Apr 19, 637342 12:50 am

Make that double, again. Drew has been without ear infections for 3 of the last 10 weeks! Last time, he was on 4 different antibiotics and finally a round of shots before they cleared up. We decided he has a dairy intolerance, so I cut out all dairy products (4 weeks ago) and that has completely cleared up his chronic congestion!! But, somehow he got another ear infection. I think that he got some older breastmilk from the freezer that wasn't dairy free last week. Any way, we see the ENT next friday. He is soooo sick. It breaks my heart to see those little blue eyes all glassy and watering from the fever.

I guess we'll be doing the tubes. Every parent that has done it has told me what a huge difference it has made in their child. So, I'm ready. I was really bummed when the ENT couldn't see him any sooner, though. I'll update when we know more. Hopefully he will be well enough soon for his 9 month checkup, too!
