We conclude that systemic arterial stiffness undergoes major changes during the menstrual cycle and pregnancy and that preeclampsia is associated with greater and more prolonged increases in arterial stiffness. Interesting. Hypothyroidism, even at sub-clinical levels, may increase arterial stiffness as well.
