Here is an interesting abstract I found. I know "pilot study" means it's very early days and a long time before my doctor might consider doing it- too long for me anyway. I know it's not helpful to my recovery process, but I can't help wondering if 23 extra days might have helped Millie.

Pilot Study of Extracorporeal Removal of Soluble Fms-Like Tyrosine Kinase 1 in Preeclampsia.

this would mean taking your blood out and putting it back in right? yikes!

Thanks for posting, Kerisue! The study has also been posted on the Foundation facebook page - I'm glad you posted it here. It's so hard - between the website, forums, and fb page - to make sure all the information is getting posted everywhere.

Our executive director, Eleni Tsigas, spoke to one of the co-authors:
We asked Dr. Thadhani about next steps and he said, "Dear Eleni,
Thank you for your interest in our work. These data hold promise but it is very early in the process, and we now need to plan for the next step. We cannot give up given this is an attractive approach, i.e., removal of a toxic factor rather than giving something potentially harmful to mother and baby. As we plan a larger trial, we look forward for your continued support.
Thank you,
Ravi

If we could get just a few more days for mom and baby to get steroids for lung maturity it would be a huge step forward.

Thanks for the extra info Heather! I'm hardly ever on facebook so if important stuff is posted here or in the newsletter that works best for me.
