I totally agree with Anissa. I'm convinced that my overall good health and the excercise during pregnancy helped me recover from the whole experience.

Ditto Amy and Arissa- I worked out with a prenatal trainer and I followed the Brewer diet very adamantly. This study is interesting- but the reason why a lot of people refuse to help with preeclampsia- It's believed to be "preventable". I'm more interested in studies that are going to show that even women who do everything "right" get pre-e.
That said, yes, exercise is WONDERFUL- the benefits during pregnancy are HUGE. Sadly, studies like this do little to change the current opinions about pre-e.

I agree with Amy. Excercising and a balanced diet are not everything. I also excercised (aerobics and weight training) 3-4 times a week throughout my pregnancy. For a while I blamed my vigorous excercise on causing my PE. I now realize that that's not true.
Reading this makes me think about how much worse I'd have been without excercising. Whenever I get pregnant again I'll continue to excercise, although I'll take time to enjoy being pregnant instead of worrying about how much weight I'll gain.

Re : Work, Leisure-Time Physical Activity, and Risk of
I believe this is true, but I must say that I FORCED MYSELF, even while having morning sickness, to get to the gym and exercise. I exercised 3-4 times a week for at least a half hour each time -- cross training machine, brisk walking, light weights -- and I still got PIH and would have developed PE if not induced.
Exercise and eating well are good but certainly not everything.
