That's interesting Denise - thanks. I've been wondering about the genetics recently - my mum had pe with me, my mother's sister had a useless placenta in her middle pregnancy and in my generation, out of four girl cousins, I'm the only one with a live child. I've had pe twice (hopefully not this time), another had two stillbirths and another can't have any (not in touch with the fourth). Seems like a lot of bad luck in one family.

Interesting, though so far to date no one, other than my sister last year, in my family has had any form of PE....I think many of us would be able to shoot this theory down.

I come fom a large family on both sides. While I'm not close to all of my cousins, I just haven't heard about PE-related stuff on the family grapevine, KWIM.

I think it's one of those things that puts you at risk if you've had family members with PE. My grandma had it with my mom, but my mom and aunt didn't. My cousin didn't develop PE with her pg, and hopefully won't with this next pg.

It is interesting to see how many things correlate sometimes.

I had PE with all three of my pregnancies. Each one worse than the other. We were very fortunate and blessed that all three of our girls survied.

Our middle daugher just had her first baby in Feb. and lo and behold....YES......PE.........horrible , horrible situation that scared her dad and I to death all over again. Our grandson was in the NICU for almost a week and our daughter took a long time to recover.

Now my youngest daugher who is 32 weeks pregnant has it too !!!! SO anyone would have a hard time selling me on the fact that it is NOT family related. From what I have seen out there on the web there is some facts that support the connection and consider it to be a risk factor if your mom or sister have had PE.
Just though I would share....thanks....glad to be here as this is my first post
