Going to OB tomorrow for Clomid

Hi everyone!
Just wanted to let you all know I am going to the OB tomorrow. I am starting Clomid to TTC. He's performing an U/S to make sure there are no cysts before he puts me on clomid. We are going with a low dose of 50 mg, hopefully to avoid multiples. So in a short month, I could be PG (I know it could take a few cycles...but, the funny thing is, I have a feeling...) I have no problems with fertility, my first PG we got it the very first time we tried, one try literally. Unfortunately, I MC. Then my cycles got all funny (they pretty much have been my whole life) and I never know when I am ovulating, so when I had my son, one dose of clomid to make me ovulate around day 14, and presto, I was PG. So that is why we are going the clomid route again. Anyway....

A question for you all. I want to try and increase my chances of having a girl. I heard if I ovulate on day 14, I should stop trying on day 12. And a lot of trying to lower sperm count, etc. Did anybody have any luck with a method? I know it is probably just luck, but it's worth a try [:D]

we have a girl but we BD'ed every day for 3 days prior to O and then 2 days after, and on O day. I think its genetics that determines the sex. I have heard that boy sperm are faster but not strong(upstream is dificult for them), and girl sperm are slower but stronger(upstream works well for them). If you catch my meaning, we working on girl sperm the entire time :o)

I hope everything goes great at your dr. appt. tommorrow. And that you will be preg in no time. BTW, what is clomid? I have also heard that if you want a girl you should conceive before O, and a boy day of O. Of course, I'm sure there are no gauruntes to that. But, it does make sense, since the girl sperm is slower and lasts longer, and boy sperm is faster but dies out quicker. Thats just what I have heard.

Take the clomid at night this way the side effects aren't that bad. It can cause headaches and mood swings. I found it better taking it at night worked well with the mood swings.

I hope that this month of Clomid does the trick! I just checked in the handy-dandy, Taking Charge of Your Fertility and here's what is says about gender selection for a girl (p.251):

Ideal Timing of Intercourse : 4 to 2 days before ovulation
Timing Sex w/Cervical Fluid : Have sex several days before your peak day (the last day of eggwhite cervical fluid or lubricative vaginal sensation), but not closer than 2 days before. Note that 1 day before increases odds of coneption, but also the odds of conceiving a boy.

Anyway, more than you ever wanted to know right?!

Wishing you luck with the Clomid, hope it works really fast. With my daughter I was trying to conceive a girl, but at the last minute, just kept trying at BD everyday around O, with my son it was just one time on O day.

I can't write about this without being embarassed, but I know several people who said that they got a girl with 2nd sperm, and by using certain positions[:I][:I]. WAY TOO MUCH INFO, I know! There are books on this I think. Of course who knows if it works, because there really is an almost 50/50 chance...
