bad news

Hi everyone. It looks like this pregnancy is not going to make it. I started spotting yesterday morning which turned into heavy bleeding and cramping last night. Having gone through this twice already, I am positive I am losing the pregnancy.

I talked to my doctor and I will go in for an ultrasound in the morning. This makes three losses since November so I guess we will start lots of testing and hopefully figure out the cause. My biggest fear is that they won't find anything wrong or find something that can't be fixed. Ughh!

Bridget - I'm very sorry to hear your news. I've recently been diagnosed with antiphospholipid syndrome, which apparently can cause repeat miscarriages. It is supposedly rare, but it might be worth asking your doctor about tomorrow. They do some blood tests - for me it was while I was delivering Amelia, and then 6 weeks post partum.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I hope the doctors can help you figure out what's going on. It may be worth asking them to run some blood tests on you--like DJA said-antiphosopholipid antibodies, anticardiolipin antibodies (which I was positive for), lupus, MTHFR, etc. Let us know what he says. You'll be in my prayers!
