Hello ladies,

I had my ultrasound today, and doctor said everything is coming along. She said I should ovulate either sunday or monday. I also took blood test to check my hormone levels. I have to go back on friday for another ultrasound and blood work. If they detect a surge friday, I will have the IUI on saturday. The timing is so crucial. Unlike intercourse, when you do an IUI the sperm injected does not live as long in the body. So Iam nervous that we will be off in terms of timing. Nevertheless, I am excited. All I can do is keep trying. Try until I cannot try anymore. So danielsmom, how was your confirmation ultrasound today? How did it go?

Excited and hopeful for you. I'd love to hear about a BFP in a couple weeks!

I totally get how overwhelming and nerve-wracking this is. I had my confirmation ultrasound today and my heart was racing just waiting for the doctor to come in. I'm a planner and like to look waaaay down the road, and that's my nemesis in this. Because I don't have a time machine, it helps me just to try to focus only on the week or the near term goal. Good luck!

I am actually doing the ultrasound on wednesday, which will be day 12 of my cycle. I will also have blood work done with the ultrasound. I can only hope it works. I have been through enough disappointments.

Good luck withe the IUI. I will keep my fingers crossed for a positive result.

Can your doctor do an US to confirm your time of ovulation, so the attempt, even if not medicated, will get you the biggest chances?

Well ladies, I am having hopefully having an IUI ( Artificially inseminated) this week. My partner travels a lot so this is the best way for us to keep trying when he is away. I did an IUI in April and it did not work. I think its because my ovulation time was off. Because I do not have any fertility issues, or so we hope, my doctor is doing the IUI during a natural cycle. For now, she does not want to use drugs because she wants to reduce the chance of multiples. A part of me is excited at the thought of being pregnant, however, I am also afraid of failure. The journey of pregnancy is such a challenge from beginning to end. I am trying not to think too much about what lies ahead. Even after all I have been through, I am still hopeful, and firmly believe everything will be ok. I pray that it works.
