clomid question

I start on clomid tommorow ... its been almost a yr since our loss ... we used clomid before and it worked after 3 cycles on the lowest dose ...we have been actively ttc for about 5 mths and the Dr decided to put me back on the clomid for the next 3 cycles to see what happens ....should she have done blood work or other tests first to see whether I am ovulating first ? maybe i am just terrified but tthe first time around blood tests were done....does anyone know what the procedure is should i be nervous that she just did a physical exam and wrote me the precription ?

The blood tests were probably to check hormone levels and such. But it has been a while and somehow I don't recall all the details If I remember correctly, clomid is started at a certain day of your cycle. If you are not sure and if you did not receive proper instructions on how to take clomid, it is perhaps best to give the doc a call and ask.

As all "firsts", the one year anniversary is not easy. Will be thinking of you and am sending along some hugs.

How are you hope you are doing well, I also did clomid 3 tries with my first before I got pregnant with our angel. The clomid is taken day 3-7 or 5-9 etc... I don't think if matters but they just need to know what day bc I think 10 days after they do an ultrasound to check for follicles and I guess depending if your going to give you the ovidrel ( trigger shot) or iui I'm sure if you call they will give you further instructions.... I'm so sorry for your loss. I wish you luck and peace as you TTC for a lil' sibling.

Were these past 5 cycles pretty "normal" for you? We did used clomid (and other measures) to conceive our 2nd. In our case we weren't ovulating or cycling at all. I was charting so knew that, but ya know doctors, they don't believe charts, just wanted the labs, and what do you know... that confirmed it .

When it comes to fertility treatments clomid is pretty "benign"- I wouldn't be worried about taking it without blood work- the bloodwork would either show you're not ovulating and so they'd give it to you... or you are, but still having difficulty so they would probably write you a script anyway since it was previously successful.

But that's me and my comfort level- what's important is yours. If you're unsure it doesn't hurt to give the office a call to get peace of mind. Doing something to make yourself feel more comfortable is always worth it.

If you do decide to go ahead with it- I hope the side effects are mild! Gosh I remember that stuff making me bonkers! I called it clo-MOODy... cause whoooo!

The doctor decided to try me on Letrozole after our chemical pregnancy (had stillborn, MMC, then chemical). I am now 22 weeks with twin boys after just 2 cycles on the Letrozole. (He also had me on progesterone for the first tri.)

Congrats Amjon !!! you must be so excited ... i took the clomid and am basically in that 2 week wait period ...the clomid was horrid i had hot flashes felt exhausted most of the time was a complete and total nut job and around the time when the doc said i shd ovulate felt sharp pains in my ovaries :0 . I am hoping it worked on the first go because i dread another cycle !!

There are alternatives to clomid if you react to it so strongly. I was the same when they once tried it for a cycle or two (I had unexplained infertility). They prescribed Femara, and it was much easier on me and everybody around me
