Suzanne,
Yes, it is a very small world. Do you remember what squadron your dad instructed? I was in HT-18. You'll have to ask him if that rings a bell... Those nutty Marines-they are a rare breed!!(I'm married to one.) Take care!!

Re : Looking for Bama Ladies
Jackie - I registered with the Pre-e Foundation today, so hopefully I will show up in the registry. I also called FEMA right after the storm and I had to file unemployment, and once I'm rejected for unemployment, it will be sent to FEMA, then I will have to fill out more paperwork. So it will take a while, but hopefully Josh and I will get some money back.
Allison - my dad is a retired Marine and he used to be a helicopter flight instructor at Whiting Field! It's a small world!

Hey, glad to hear from you Suzanne - I sent you email a minute ago. By the way Register with FEMA - NOW. 1800621FEMA. Especially since you lost hours/pay.
Yes, the Florabama is gone. On my way home last week, I heard an interview with one of the last patrons. He sounded so proud to have been served one of the last drinks! The epitome of the beach life!

Suzanne,
I'm in the military and I did my helicopter training in Milton, at NAS Whiting Field. Now I'm in San Diego. I can't say that I was sorry to leave Milton, but Pensacola was nice, and I'm so sorry to hear about how much destruction has happened. I hope that the Melting Pot is still intact!!!

Re : Looking for Bama Ladies
Allison - how did you know I was talking about Gulf Breeze - lol!! Leslie, my parents live in Pace and still don't have power either. I'm so sorry you're still in the dark. During Hurricane Erin my parents were the last ones without power and finally a Gulf Power guy told them that their box was damaged in the storm and it had to be repaired by an electrician before their power could be restored - we were without power about 2 weeks! Their box was not messed up this time, but once again they will be the last ones to get power - I guess they are considered living in the "country."
