Hi Summers are crazy around here.

Sorry, I have not been on lately. Been busy with my son. We are starting a swim class this summer and Mommy & Me Class. He is 22mo. and loves to swim.

I will be traveling to Southern CA (L.A) area next week (6/6-6/13). Are there any members there in the L.A area? I would like to start a new Chapter in Ca. Please join me as we start a new beginning.

Hello Marlie;
I am so glad you want to join Ca chapter. So far I think we have three members in Ca. Once we get a count then we can make further plans.

I actually live in Santa Clara(Northern Ca) but we are visiting my Aunt on Sunday and Monday in Laguna Niguel. My friend lives on Anchorage Drive, in Hunting Beach.( Is that near you?) Then, we(my son and I)are heading back towards Thousand oaks(In-laws). Several places in between. I used to live in San Fernando Valley(My Dad still lives in Tarzana).

I look forward to getting to know you.
Deborah.

Deborah-
I think that your friend lives around the corner from me! I am sure that there is more than one Anchorage Drive, but wouldn't that be ironic [:)] Yes, please keep me posted if we can get a chapter going, that would be wonderful! Enjoy your trip and have safe travels.
Marlie

Hi Marlie;
I guess we are on our own for chapter members in Ca. Do you have any ideas on how we can get more members to join us? I am going to put an add in our synagogue on-line newsletter. I am going to look other moms group newsletter.

Any ideas would be great! Hope your summer is going well.

I think we have around 100 registered members in California so we will want to break things into chapters based on where people live. Maybe start with a Northern and Southern chapter and from there expand...

Our lawyer is helping us sort out the "hows" of setting up a chapter. A couple details...we need people to jump in and help lead the start-up process and then the chapter will vote on its president and leaders after the first 6 meetings. Ultimately, we want to have chapters with paid staff but for the moment--the chapters will have to be volunteer positions.

I know Deborah has already volunteered to help out--let me know if anyone else is interested as well!

Thanks!!

Hi. I just found this website and would like to join a California Chapter. I live in Southern CA, just south of Santa Barbara and am very interested in meeting other people who have faced preeclampsia. I was diagnosed with severe preeclampsia and HELLP syndrome on 07/16/03, while pregnant with my first child and at 25 weeks. Unfortunately, the preeclampsia progressed very rapidly and my son, Zachary James, had to be delivered at 26 weeks. We were blessed with Zach for 5 days and he is now our sweet baby in heaven. My husband and I have been scouring the internet and bookstores for information on this disease and are having such a hard time understanding the lack of information available, to meet with others who have experienced this would mean a lot.

Julie;

Thanks so much for replying. Even though we are a big state not many people have signed up yet. I actually, live near San Jose but when we get more people we can then decide where/when we want to split up with Southern Ca and Northern Ca.

I had preeclampsia with my son who was born 2001. Still trying to come to terms with it and wondering if I will have the same problems if/when I decide to try for #2. I know the chances are pretty high but I only want two kids and then I am done.

Welcome to our Ca Chapter.
Deborah.
