Nancy, welcome.

I'd try http://www.smfm.org (search by state) to find an MFM near you. I also hope someone local will see your post and email you. :-)

Hi,

I am a new member and I have figured out that names of doctors and hospitals cannot be posted on the website. I had a son 16 months ago and had HELLP syndrome. I was seeing a nurse midwife until the diagnosis (and then had my son 2 days later). The whole time I was in the hospital, I was in the care of whoever was on call.

I'm starting the process of thinking about having another child. I feel like I'm starting at square one, since I really didn't have a doctor during my last pregnancy. It's been years since the last post on this thread, so I am wondering who or where to contact about finding doctors in the Twin Cities Metro area that knowledgeable about HELLP syndrome.

Thanks.

I have 2 sugestions: one is to look for one in the links provided here

http://www.preeclampsia.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4668

The other one is to contact Jamie (she is from Minneapolis or close), our administrative director at

Preeclampsia Foundation
Administrative Office
5945 Maplewood Lane, Suite 101
Minnetonka, MN 55345-6327
Phone (800) 665-9341
Fax (952) 252-8096

Or just email her through the forum - forum username grace04

We can't recommend any doctors on the Forum or website for liability reasons, but I'm sure you will find someone at either one of these sources.

Hi all, I am from the Minneapolis area and am looking for a new doctor. I had my first child seven months ago at 27 weeks gestation. I had PIH and she had IUGR. We are both fine now. I just learned that I am pregnant again and am search of a GREAT doctor - one who knows a lot about preeclampsia. Any suggestions?
