"Checking For Charity" is a non-profit organization of adult hockey players dedicated to helping raise money for other charities through competitive hockey events.

On August 20-22nd, the group will hold it’s Second Annual Tournament at the Flyers Skate Zone in Vorhees, NJ.

Every team plays for a charity of their choice. Like last year, Ed Gorleski's team, the Hawks, will be playing to raise money for the Preeclampsia Foundation - in memory of the daughter he and wife, Kelly, lost in relation to HELLP Syndrome.
The percentage of the money teams earn, is based upon their final ranking in the tournament.

A Beef and Beer will also be held at PJ Whelihan’s in Cherry Hill, NJ on August 19. The local public is invited to attend with funds raised from that evening going toward the charity giving.

Come out and cheer the team on over the weekend...or enjoy a fun night out on the 19th!!! For information on how you can attend the Beef and Beer or the Checking for Charity Tournament

Happy to report that as a semi-finalist in the tournament, the Hawks were rewarded about $1400 for the Preeclampsia Foundation!

SPECIAL THANKS to Ed Gorleski, his wife Kelly, the Checking for Charity Organization, and the all the men who played for the charity!
