....lol, kind of! Besides, I keep bugging Jen for ideas(bless her)...

Sam and I are looking at taking a 3 day trip down in South or North Carolina this summer. We are thinking of a hotel, and it does not have to be on the beach, but with-in walking distance. I have been to Charleston a few time with my family, and love it there. But I am open to other suggestions.

Any takers?

My mom/stepdad have a second home in Myrtle Beach and there are sooooo many options in that area, many places right ON the beach or near it. I love it there, lots to do. I've been to Charleston only on a day trip from MB, so I'm no help in that area.

Well, Kris is right about Myrtle Beach, although it is a lot more "touristy" if you know what I mean. But, there are still nice places to go and things to do. I can help a little in that vicinity, but not as much as down here. "Broadway at the Beach" comes to mind.........email me and I'll explain more.

Plus, if you choose MB, we can still make a day trip up to visit you! [:)] But, you know we still want to argue on behalf of Charleston. I think it has everything, don't think I'd want to live anywhere else. Of course, in all seriousness, it's up to you guys, but I enjoy making suggestions and answering questions, etc. Best of luck deciding!

Ok, I'm still thinking about your dilemma on where to go for the vacation. It will help the "travel agent side" of me to do a better job if you can guide me a little...........what kind of stuff do you want to do on this vacation? Are you looking for calm, lazy days hanging out on the not-so-crowded beach, or more for busy days full of activities and things to do and see? The answer to that will largely determine where you should go, I think. [:)]

Kris...I also have been to Myrtle beach and LOVE it! Does your mom and step-dad rent out their second home?

Jen...as far of what we would like to do, I would say a mix of laying around, trying to get some color, swimming, and exciting busy days going to sights. Of course, it all has to be 2 year old friendly. :)

You know if you want to be near Myrtle Beach but not right in the middle of the tourist thing, go for Garden City or Surfside Beach. Stayed there one year and LOVED it. Would suggest Isle of Palms but not the same as when I was a kid. Too touristy. Garden City has a pier right next to some condos. They have live music and all kinds of things to do and it's a hop, skip, and a jump to Myrtle Beach!
