Hi Donna -

I've recently taken on the role of helping to coordinate groups who are interested in starting a 'chapter' in their state or region. Sounds like you are excited to get something started in TN.

If you are interested in getting involved, we do not currently have a coordinator for the TN area. If you are interested, here's the scoop: the coordinator will be the key contact person and will basically organize/lead the group's activities, communicate with the members in your area, and be the liaison to myself and the national office. Consider what time you have available to commit and whether you feel comfortable being in a leading role. We currently have 15 states/regions represented and are thrilled to add more passionate ladies to our circle!

If you are interested, I'll set up a phone call with you to get some information and to answer any questions. If we're comfortable with everything and we agree to move forward, I would send you some coordinator documents and the list of registered members in your area for you to make contact with.

Hi Carol

I will have to get back with you at a later date on how much time I would have as my oldest has just started school and I have to get accustomed to that schedule and will be moving soon as well.. If I can get myself organized a bit more I think I would like to do that, so long as there would be someone to help out as I dont think I have been in a leading role of much since I was in high school... long time ago...

If nothing else you could email me with what kinds of things I would have to do, specific stuff, like what kind of activities asn other things like that you mean. Thanks for replying and I look forward to hearing from you.

Hi Donna -

I understand... it's so difficult to try and divide your time and not go crazy! And you're pregnant which adds another whole dimension!

Currently, our big project is the Get The Word Out campaign which, in the first stage, consists of raising funds for printing a new brochure (or getting the service donated) and distributing them in our communities to raise awareness and promote networking opportunities. The brochure won't be completed for another 2-3 weeks so in the meantime all the state coordinators and their members are brainstorming ideas for how to print them and where to distribute them. If you're interested or when you get on a more predictable schedule, let me know.

I live in VA about 40 minutes from Bristol VA/TN. I delivered in 2000 at Johnson City Medical Center. I had Class I HELLP at 27 weeks. My daughter was 1 lb 7 oz. She is 4 now, and happy and very healthy despite being a little petite. They took good care of her at the JCMC NICU. Dr. Bonta was very good with her. I only wish there had been some sort of support group for first time parents dealing with long stays in the hospital there.

Hi Joyce

I live about 60 miles below Bristol off I-81. I am glad to hear you DD is doing fine and healthy. That is one of the concerns I have had with my kids, luckily, my worst thing is a little speech delay/drinking problems and reflux with my son. It isnt too major though. Just things that will take time to grow out of.

Email me if you ever wish to just talk, my DD is 5 1/2 now and my son is 19mo and I am expecting another son just anytime now.
