I would love to hear pregnancy stories from HELLP syndrome survivors who are + for the MTHFR mutation (Homogygous/both sets). Did any of you go one to have fairly normal pregnancies after HELLP? What treatments were you on?
I developed severe atypical preeclampsia and HELLP syndrome and had to be taken by life flight to deliver my daughter at 34 wks. As many of you already know the experience with HELLP was horrible! Several months after delivery I tested homogygous for the MTHFR mutation. Fortunately, my daughter is now a very healthy 2-year-old.
My husband and I are planning on trying to conceive very shortly and I am a nervous wreck!!! I am having trouble sleeping at night because of nightmares. I am constantly wondering if I am making the right decision to try for another child. My homocysteine levels are within normal limits and my maternal fetal specialist is not recommending any blood thinning medications at this time.
Your stories are greatly appreciated!
Sara, born 2/23/02 @ 34 wks due to severe atypical preeclampsia and HELLP syndrome.
