hey
yeah i got pretty wicked ptsd from the birth of molly. I went to see a counsellor for about a year and that really helped. I think that finding the right counsellor was really important for me, and it meant that i did not end up on meds.
Now that i am pregnant again, it is bring up quite a lot of stuff. my counsellor has left to have a baby which is nice for her but hard for me. I find going to the hospital and having to retell the story to lots of people really hard. My coping with that is to not take my child as it adds to the anxiety if we have to wait and taking my ipod with really relaxing music. i also make sure that i see the same people now so that i don;t have to retell the story again and again.
i read somewhere that 25% of people that have pre-ecl or hellp get ptsd but really i think that it could be higher.
having another baby after hellp is pretty hard and i found that after contemplating it for 2 years when we actually got pregnant again it does bring it back. hard not to when it is such a full on experience.
wicked for getting the therapy and for it working. i agree with l412angel. blogging is a good thing.
you are not alone that is for sure!!!!
hang in there.
