Welcome to the forums. :)

Any variation of preeclampsia (HELLP is considered a variation of preeclampsia) appears to be related to heart disease. The children of these pregnancies are at higher risk of chronic hypertension. There's a much higher incidence of autoimmune conditions in the mothers, and I know autism rates are higher, but I'm not sure about ADD.

Which medical conditions are your concerns? I can do some searches on PubMed and see if there are known correlations.

Welcome again.

Long term effects

Postby jayneway » Fri Sep 03, 2010 10:24 pm

I was one of the first diagnosed with HELLP syndrome in Canada in 1985 and now that my first born has turned 25, I'm curious to know if anything has been discovered regarding the long term effects to mother or child. I have many health issues, and my son has ADHD, but I've never know if they're related.
