Any chance i can have another after post partum onset HELLP

Hi everyone!

I was diagnosed with HELLP 5 days postpartum after the birth of my daughter who arrived at 40 wks 4 days (With my firstborn son i did have pre-e diagnosed at 39 wks 5 days so I was induced but it resolved right after birth.) I have been advised to NOT have a third by my doctor and am wondering if there is any new info on HELLP and subsequent pregnancies. I am wondering if i should ask my doctor for a referral to a MFM specialist but wonder if this is futile as she has already strongly advised my against future pregnancy. I would not want to get pregnant if it was risky but would like to have all the information before ruling it out. i do have an auto- immune diagnosis (grave's discovered after i went briefly hyperthroid after firstborn's birth) and am not sure if that is related, just noticed others here posting about autoimmune conditions. I have been unable to part with any baby clothes or gear as I really was hoping to have one more baby. I strongly trust my doctor's opinion so am not sure if I should ask for the referral to MFM specialist.

I would definitely ask. I had hellp at 23 wks, did not get sick at all the 2nd time around.
