Perhaps we can use this topic area for everybody to post what media coverage they were able to get, and how, as an inspiration for others. For starters, here is what I believe is our FIRST media coverage on the topic (which I had nothing to do with, but am thrilled with! [:D] )

I will say that if we get the park in PA that we want we won't be able to include the media until the day of the walk and that will only be having a reporter come to write a story. The park is a public park but has all the things an ideal walk site would want (they even had walk-a-thon info on their site!) and we have to respect that others will be there, plus they don't want hundreds of ppl to just show up. We will do all that we can to get a story out there in the paper "after" the walk.

FYI - I put our event on all the Toledo community event calendars that I could find online. Usually every TV station and newspaper has one on their website.

My incredible husband composed an email (all by himself!) and sent it to a local country music station "morning show" guy yesterday, requesting some air time for the Tampa walk....and got it!!! The producer will be contacting him on Monday to work out a time he can come into the studio to talk about the PF walk. Yippee!!![:D]

He's going to contact another one in the next few days for air time, but he wants to speak to this station about sponsorship for Tampa first...we don't want two rival radio stations showing up...that would be bad...[;)]

Due to the hard work of PF member Martina Kaiser here in Phoenix, we have a reporter from the Arizona Republic interested in the WAT and the PF! We are scheduled for a notice on the events calendar in the AZ Republic soon, and hope for a featured story.

Martina is awesome! She was given names and numbers of reporters from our founder's PR brother, Tom Garrett. She made many phone calls and connectd with a reporter who is interested in the story.

I'll update as things progress!

I have been asked to do an interview on a morning radio show in Tampa for preeclampsia awareness and to advertise the WAT. I am so excited about this! It will happen the second week in April. It just so happened that the host of the morning show delivered her baby in Dec due to preeclampsia!

The county's only magazine for women is going to list the WAT in their events page and are thinking for the May issue on motherhood to include preeclampsia. They also requested lots of pics of the walk to put in the you made a difference page.

Dear Husband was on the radio show this morning. Now, mind you this is a guy who is constantly in the public eye...he got so nervous, he said the wrong date while he was on the air. The producer called me back a few minutes after and they corrected him. They had him on for a good ten minutes. [:D]
