I'd recommend you reinforce the points made in the press release and then really drive home
(1) the necessity for *awareness* -- that so much can go wrong simply because women and sometimes their health care providers - are not aware of the signs and symptoms of PE. Beyond that, HCPs then need to be aware of appropriate and timely diagnosis and management of the disease.
(2) the necessity to *raise money* for research, awareness campaigns and adequte education for health care providers.
Each year, 200,000 women in the U.S. get PE. That's almost one in every twelve pregnancies. We're excited about the enthusiasm across the country for the Walk-A-Thon and hope that it begins to underscore the widespread impact of the disease.
