Insurance Update

Hi All,

I finally got a hold of the insurance agent on Friday and found out that the hold up has been regarding the number of locations. The insurance companies that she has been negotiating with all want to charge us separately for each location. After all the back-and-forth, none of the insurance companies will budge. So, the good news is that we have been approved for the insurance. The bad news is that we are going to be charged for 17 premiums [:(!] So I'm waiting to get a fax to find out what the cost will be and then I'll let you know. It would be a GREAT area for sponsorship if you can find someone who is willing! I'll keep you posted.......

Okay - got the quote. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be; but it isn't great. The annual premium for liability insurance that INCLUDES the walk-a-thon is $3,288. That averages out to be approximately $194 per WAT site. So, here's my question - does anyone think they can secure a $200 sponsor for their location to help offset the cost of insurance? Please let me know ASAP by posting it here. We will certainly send a tax-deductible receipt to anyone who is able to contribute.

I should clarify that we will still get the insurance regardless - but it is not in our budget and would have to come out of the profits from the WAT. So preferably, we find some sponsors to help offset the cost.
