Donation for the walk a thon insurance..

That was a question I had regarding the insurance. Do you have an idea as to what walk sites need the insurance and for how much? For instance, our walk site just needs "paper insurance" and no set amount of money, so how much would that be??? Those sites that need insurance should really try to get a sponsor to cover them. I know we are trying to get what we can, but we also have site fees to pay as well.

Hi Kris,

Unfortunately, the insurance company is charging us for 20 separate events even though not all the events are requiring a certificate of insurance. Therefore, we are paying insurance for every site. It averages out to be just under $200 per site.

I am so excited I could burst :) I just got word that my church council has approved my request for funds and is giving a $500 sponsorship for the WAT. I'm hoping to stretch this for T-shirts and other costs like printing/postage, but I assume I can use $200 from this sponsorship to cover my site's insurance fee.

Jaime, please again clarify here if it is best for documentation if they make a check out to PF and I send you this $ in whole, and then you allot specific amounts to cover T-shirts and insurance. Then also reimberse my out-of-pocket costs (with proper documentation and receipts)...or is there a different way???

I think I can go out on a limb here and say YES, as I just asked Jaime. Have them make the check out to the PF. Send it to her, then tell her what you need for your site, etc. and she'll send you the check.

Dawn - CONGRATULATIONS!!!! That is very exciting! What Kris said about getting a check from us is correct.

Gloria - The largest cost of the WAT is the insurance - nearly $3500. The second largest cost for the WAT are t-shirts - nearly $2000. So any sponsorships we can get would be fabulous!

Hi Jaime! Did I mention that I'm estimating needing 300 customized T-shirts (for Toledo)??? When I tallied that I got around $1,300...so I wasn't sure where you got the $2,000 number...hopefully I told you about that...if not, sorry. But we'll be needing 300.[:D]

Yikes - I'm not sure where I got that number either! [:0] I had it all reversed. The T-Shirts are the largest cost! Our t-shirt bill will be around $5000. Insurance is $3500. Sorry!! [:I]
