I shared at my schools faculty meeting..

After hearing my story my school principal made me share about
the WAT during the school faculty meeting. Of course I had to tell
my story which started with, " at the end of '03 I was pregnant and
gave birth to a baby boy that was my dream come true. Unfortunately
he only lived for 22 days... you must be wondering what happened?
Well preeclampsia is what happened! I then back tracked to the symptoms; magnesium sulfate and hospital bedrest. I could see
by their faces that they were impacted. I ended with
a plea and reminded them to do it for their daughters; cousins
and friends that will have babies in the future.

One of the teachers later approached me to tell me that she
had had preeclampsia in her last pregnancy. It's amazing how
little people know about this disease. Thanks for reading!

Thanks, Denise. I was amazed at how I was able to share
without breaking down about it. Last year I def. would not
have been able to do this.

I am sure it was difficult to share you story, but you never know who you touch - people seem to open up once they hear certain stories. I hope you draw more ppl to the walk and they seek you out for more PF info.

I had various people approach me and thank me for sharing my
story. Some of the women had had preeclampsia in later pregnancy
and were unaware that they or their baby's life had been in
danger.

One of the teachers also shared that her daughter is currently
bedresting at home and asked for advice. They plan to deliver
this Saturday.
