Re : new here
Hi Julie! Hope you are doing well. I am moving back to Colorado within the year so I am trying to post in here and get to know some of the ladies. I too have had to hard pregnancies and know how you are feeling but my dh and I are done. I had my tubes taken care of with Genna. I am sad about it but know that nothing bad will happen to me and I will be here for my girls. We can always consider adopting another child down the road. Anyway, welcome.
Re : new here
Welcome Julie!!! Glad to have you aboard! lol[:p]
I'm Joyce, from Denver. DH, Chuck, and I have a 14 m.o. son, Anton, who was born early due to pre-e. I received some excellent care at SJH. Lucky us, Kaiser docs know their stuff....at least mine did.
I work for the state health dept. in public health microbiology. I have to say that you inspire me too. I've considered going back for my master's or PhD several times. I just don't know if my two boys would let me concentrate on something besides them for that long. [:D] Besides, we're considering TTC #2 sometime after Anton turns 2. (still a debate in our house)
Anyways, sorry to hear you had such terrible pregnancies. But, I am glad to know that they both had wonderful outcomes!!!!
Welcome!!!!

Yes, well, saw the link AFTER I posted - thats the way it is with me...
Jessica - my field of study - chemistry and my dh was in law school. All I can say is that my graduate advisor and dept chair didn't mind me being AWOL for 3 months while I recovered physically and emotionally from having a 27 wkr. Most of the dept didn't even know I was pregnant when I delivered. We were both in our 2nd yr of grad school. Dh took his law books to read in the NICU between classes. After that point, it became a mantra to 'just finish' - who cared how or when.
Jonathan came literally came right when I was finishing up - my defense was pushed back a couple of months, as was my job searching.
So much for family planning.....[;)]

Re : new here
Just wanted to add my welcome to you! If you haven't done so already you may want to copy this and paste it to the "Roll Call" board. More people might see it there. I am sure there are some members that only read their own states board~
Glad to have you join us!! Look forward to seeing some posts from you.
Congrats on the birth of your children!

Hi everyone!
My name is Julie and I met Jessica at a BBQ last week. We started chatting and I mentioned that I had preeclampsia with my second daughter, so she invited me here!
Anyway - I have two daughters - Olivia Parker and Aspen Elise. Olivia was born at 38 weeks, 6 days weighing 7lbs, 10 oz on June 11, 2003. I had to be induced (my water was broken) due to PIH. However, I was rearing to go and did not require pitocin. My second daughter, Aspen, was born at 36 weeks, 1 day. I was admitted to the hospital with high blood pressure, blurry vision, and a headache on June 20th and started going downhill. My platelet count started dropping, so my OB decided to induce with her too. Aspen was born at 6:00pm on June 21, 2005. I had preterm labor with her, so I had a very fast labor of only about 2 1/2 hours. After an awful pregnancy (hyperemesis - requiring lots of IVs, preterm labor - requiring a hospital stay of 5 days and complete bedrest, and then preeclampsia), it was nice to have such a great labor and delivery.
I have such horrible pregnancies, that I doubt I will ever have another child. But, I am not 100% sure yet. I might feel differently in about 5 years [:)] Also - I live in Denver and am working on my PhD in biometeorology at CU Boulder. My husband, Jason, and I have been married for about 4 1/2 years.
Well, that is about it!
