Hello Ladies,
The Connecticut Group of the Preeclampsia Foundation has had a change in coordinators. As many of you know, Jennifer Edwards started the Connecticut Group for the Preeclampsia Foundation, which really got the ball rolling for us and gave us the opportunity to meet and begin to make a difference. Big THANK YOU’s to you, Jennifer! At this time, Jennifer has some great endeavors going on outside the PF, endeavors that she truly is passionate about and has passed the CT Group baton on to me (after approval of course)!!! Jennifer will still be an active member with us! I was thrilled to be asked.
Okay..for those of you who do not know me I will give you a brief history of myself. I live in Uncasville, CT with my husband, Tom, and four yellow labs (yes, four)!!! I work as a secretary at the US Coast Guard Academy (love it!) and take classes full-time, online, through the University of Phoenix. I won’t bore you with the rest of my life.
In 1994, I suffered from a sudden onset of eclampisa ( I say this because I had two seizures within a couple of hours of each other) and HELLP Syndrome @ 26 wks 3 days. My son, Tyler, was born via emergency c/section and weighed in at 15 ounces. He was very premature, though not diagnosed with IUGR, and fought for his life for two weeks. At exactly 14 days after his birth, I lost Tyler. I just celebrated his 10th birthday on 3/9 and his angel day is 3/23. I had my tubes tied in 2000, then had a tubal reversal in 2004 and my husband and I are currently trying to conceive. It’s been a heck of a road, but I’m lucky to have great doctors and great support! Oh, and I'm 35
I can’t tell you how great it has been to have found the Preeclampsia Foundation. I feel like I found a place where women knew what I was going through, and I could give my time to help get the word out and make a difference.
I’ve been a member of the PF since October 2003. After attending meetings, I really got involved with posting on the board. A few weeks ago I became a moderator for the TTC section, and volunteered to work with a PA Preeclampsia member to coordinate the PF’s inaugural walk-a-thon.
Well, I just wanted to say hello to let you know about the change in leadership and let you know who I am (for those who had never met me)! I will send an email soon regarding our April meeting. Please feel free to contact me at any time…well, I am usually in bed by 9!!!
Hope to see you all soon!
