Another Baby lost to PE

When we got here on Saturday my DH met a family who was dealing with PE and the wife was really on her death bed. One of my doctors asked if my DH would speak with the family since we have been there and would add some light. Last night, the baby was born at 22 weeks and did not make it. It's very sad on the unit today even though everyone has their own rooms you still kind of know what's going on thru out the unit. Of course, DH and I offerred our support and gave the website and anything else we can think of to do to help.

The Mom is still out of it and not doing very well. She is still on Mag and will be for a few more days.

My thoughts and prayers are with the family.. I will pass on any other information....

How very, very sad....it's amazing how God places people in certain places at certain times. I'm glad you and hubby were there at that time to offer the family support. My prayers are headed to the family, and for the safe recovery of the mom.

Tomorrow will put me at 23 wks.
That was just a very scary thought for me.

You and DH are amazing people to be there for them, even with your own worries.

Thank goodness you and your DH were able to be there for this family. Never underestimate the importance of a kind word in such situations. We have had women write us later and say our emotional support here on the board kept them from suicide after the loss of their baby. Even if it feels frustrating that we cannot do more--please know how very much you do. Keep us updated on her and if she wants--let me know--I am happy to call and speak with the family.

My hear truly breaks for this family. they will be in my thoughts and prayers. It's great that you and DH were there to help with this. It's so much more comforting talking to someone who has been through it.

T, that is such sad news.

Are you ok? Did you find the whole situation very upsetting? I know that we get so gung ho here that you're probably buoyed up on a tidal wave of faith and best wishes. Still, just before having a baby is such an emotional time under any circumstances and you and DH have really worked hard for Casey. I really admire that you were able to reach out and try to help... you have major spine.
