What has helped you in your Grief Process?

When Katlyne passed away we left the hospital with all of her things (3 1.2 months worth of things) and that was it. It was at her Memorial Service that her Nurses gave me very special things that I am very thankful for. We were given a plate with her hands and footprints, photo's that were taken after we had left (Kat's primary Nurse took her back up to the garden to take her picture in the tulips (my favorite picture)). We were also given a few books but the best book was Empty Crandle, Broken Heart surviving the Death of your baby written by Deborah L. Davis,Ph.D. This book has helped in many ways that I could never had thought of. If you haven't read it I do suggest reading it as it might be of some help to you....

Hi T,

What has helped me in my grief process is connecting
with other women that have lost babies as well. Reading
has also helped, there is a particular book I recommend.
It's called Grieving the Child I Never Knew by Kathe
Wunnenberg. It is a book written from a spiritual
perspective. It is said the book invites one to
"present yor hurts before God and to receive over time
the healing that He alone can- and will- provide."

I also read Empty Cradle, Broken Heart. I actually read every book I could find on the subject. I went to grief support at our church, an individual Grief Counsellor and a support group for neonatal death. These groups have helped me immensely. Especially the Neonatal death group because I have met and been able to talk to women who know what I am going through, how I am feeling and have come out on the other side with hope.
