Hello. In 2002, I developed HELLP at 25 weeks. My daughter was delivered by emergency c-section just a few days later. She weighed 1lb, 10oz. Today, she is a beautiful, healthy 3 year old. It took us both some time to recover physically and it took me even longer to recover emotionally. I'm still afraid to have another child as I came very close to death. One of the ways I have coped is by volunteering with the March of Dimes. On November 15th, we are holding a candlelight vigil and prematurity roll-call on the canal in downtown Indianapolis. We are looking for names of premature babies to read off. Each name that we read off will have a candle lit in that child's honor. We need the name, number of weeks premature, date of birth and date of death (if applicable). I would feel so honored if you could give me your children's names and I could add them to our list. Also, if you live close enough (and aren't on bedrest) PLEASE attend the candlelight vigil on the canal. You can get more information on this at www.marchofdimes.com/indiana

I think that is a wonderful thing to do. I went to the MOD walk america while pregnant with my daughter who sadly isnt here in my arms....I want to thank you for bringing this up and I would be so grateful for my babies to be added.

This is definitely a wonderful way to honor our babies and I wish I lived close enough to attend. However, I would still love for my babies' names to be included. Thanks so much for asking!

Hey everyone! Thanks for the names. I forgot to ask but if you don't mind, can I have last names? If it's a problem, no biggie. Thank you so much for the support. I was starting to worry about getting enough names to really draw the media attention to the problems of prematurity. My guy at MOD told me to keep the faith so I went home last night and said a little prayer. That's when I realized, go to where the mommies are! [:D] I lurked here after my DD was born but never posted. I realize now how much I needed that support. Thank you all for being such wonderful women.
