Cara, I'm so glad you were able to check in. I hope that the power stays on, but if not, I'm glad y'all are able to come here to get out of the main storm.

I really hope that NO does better than they're predicting. I fell in love with the city after going this past January and DH and I had planned on going back every January for our Christmas present to each other. I've been glued to Fox and Weather Channel just watching to see what's happening. I'll be praying for your family and hoping that NO is spared(along with the rest of the Coast).

Keep us posted on how things are going in BR, Cara. I had thought about calling you today to find out if y'all were doing ok, but figured you had enough to deal with today. Glad you were able to check in.

Thinking of you all...She looks like a mean storm...I just saw them break in on NBC and were showing all those people lined up at the superdome..So sad...Looks like a bad situation all together....

I'm in northwest Florida, aka hurricane alley. We'll feel a little from the storm, but nothing like in Lousisiana and Mississippi. I used to work at a Biloxi casino and I'm worried about my friends over there. Poor New Orleans residents. They may not have a house to come home to, but hopefully everyone can escape with their lives. What a scary situation. I pray that all of you that live in that area will be safe.

Hey-

We came to Vidalia b/c our power went out last night and Entergy gave us a 2 -3 day minimum, 2 week max to restore it. My family probably won't be able to get back to NO for a little bit, especially since the levees broke. Anyway, Mike (DH) works for the State office of Homeland Security/Emergency Preparedness so we had to leave him in BR but he's safe. He'll be working for the next few months with little time off. His Nat'l Guard unit was activated so he's got that to deal with as well.

Mandy- I'll call you. We will be staying at least the night here and maybe try to back tomorrow afternoon.

We're in a hurricane-prone place (charleston SC) so we sympathize with all of you Gulf Coast people and are praying for you. Keep us informed!

My BIL was leaving town last night and expected at my FIL's - normally a 3-4 hr drive on I-10. We've yet to hear from him.

We are praying for those that have been affected by the horrible storm.
