Heather, I am so sorry about your son and mine as well - all of our losses. It is so unfair. I honestly don't even know myself anymore, it's like I am a whole new person, a mom who has lost her firstborn. I never thought my life would be like this.[V]

Your DH seems great. I have applauded him for posting so much here in this area almost exclusively made up of women.[^]

Heather, I am curious about the fluid in your lungs and the blood clot? I am preparing to go to a specialist to check out a lot of things, namely my HBP that has just come back. When I was pregnant, I was so sick, so much mucous - nose, ears, throat. I was constantly spewing (sorry to be so graphic). Though I know these can be normal preg syptoms, I always thought it was so wierd. And now, I happen to have flu and all the symtoms are back again AND my BP is up (I am definitely NOT preg). I dunno it is just wierd to me and I am wondering if anyone else experienced these things, as well as extreme nausea? Just curious. . .

Hang in there.. I know what you mean about loosing your firstborn.. I never thought i'd be picking out an urn... It really is depressing.. Im excited to try again yet so very scared at the same time.. This is not something I want to go through again.

I know what you mean about the mucus thing.. Every morning when i'd brush my teeth.. and I dont know if it was the mucus in my throat or what but it would gag me to the point where i'd be almost dry heaving. It was so awfull, it was like an every morning ritual. But I had it where it was just "stuck there" all day.. no matter what, i couldnt get it out.
As for your flue symptoms and what not, i'd have it checked just in case. I'll be 25 next month and never thought I would have a blood clot in my lung. I started out with back pain. And I thought it was just pull/tight muscles from tension, stress, crying.. all that. And one night it got to the point where I couldnt even stand or breathe.. so i took a hot shower and that helped. The next morning I woke up and went to the dr's. They didnt check my temp but had brought up that it may be a blood clot but they were going to treat me for pulled muscles and keep the blood clot in the back of their mind just in case. I got home and all of a sudden felt hot and tired. I took my temp and was at 102. My hubby came home and called the dr back and they had him take me right to the ER. They admitted me right away and there I stayed because they found the blood clot in the lung. You just never know... I thought I felt like that just because of stress.. so, you should get it checked.. just in case.
You hang in there and take care of yourself. You'll be ok. I hope everything turns out ok for you. Just dont be discouraged in the future.. I wish you much luck. Let me know if you go to the dr what they say.

Yes, I had the same mucous problem! I would really love to know what if others experienced this. Did you see a pulmonary specialist. I also have asthma and I need to get checked. Thanks for your encouragement. I waited so long to have children - it's just so scary. I was told to wait at least 9 months to try again. I dunno. I would die to see another child go through this but I also feel inside myself that I am meant to mother a living child.

Try not to worry Anika... I tell myself that all the time. Im confident that both you and I will be mothers of living children. Keep your head high and think positive. :)
No, I never saw any specialists actually.. just the ones that do your level 2 ultrasounds... I dont think my ob/gyn provided the best care though. i'll be taking it upon myself to see a better doctor this time. A high risk dr. Wow, so they told you that you should wait at least 9 months before trying again? I was just talking with my husband about when we'll go to the new dr for a consul for planning the next. I imagine he'll tell me i'll have to wait a couple more months yet. :( But, if that's whats for the better as far as health for a new baby and better health for myself, then thats what i'll do.

Heather, yes we do intend on trying again; and I am grateful that now I at least know what signs to look for. I did have a few signs such as rapid weight gain and swelling, but my bp was not elevated even to borderline my last pre-natal visit which was ten days before I lost Emma. we never knew anything was wrong until I started having seizures.


As to the mucus problem, I had that as well during pregnancy; although I just blamed it on sinuses. My mucus problem (as well as bp) cleared up within a couple weeks after delivery trhough.
