Any NYC-area activity?

Hi all,

I'm new to this forum and wanted to see if there's any current activity of NYC-area members. I'm in Brooklyn and TTC with my second after a severe case of HELLP in December 2003. My daughter, Grace Ayodele, was born on December 12th at barely 24 weeks gestation. She lived for 4 days. Now that my husband and I are TTC our second, I'm especially interested to hear what doctors/hospitals other NYC-area women have used. I'm currently affiliated with a Manhattan-based MFM though I'm considering affiliating with one in Brooklyn because he's a good deal closer. I'm wondering if others have chosen a hospital/doctor based on proximity to home and what other decisions you may have made to support subesquent pregnancies. I'll look forward to hearing from some of you!

hi erica. it is really reassuring to know that i am not the only one in the local area. we lost our daughter at 26 weeks due to very severe pe and hellp. it has been over nine months since our loss. how i imagine her and hope she is taken care of in heaven. i am affiliated with a hospital in the bronx because of it's reputation as a research facility as well as high risk managment with pregnancies. the doctor that i am going to go to...as we have had our preconceptual meeting with her...sounds great...she will be vigilant and on top of things. i too am trying for a third at this stage. i had a miscarriage the year before. it is really nerve racking...i am willing to do this because i so want another baby...however, i am very scared! do contact me if you need any more information. take care. i do hope we get more replies.
