What's new with our Bama/Florida girls?

Just wondering what's new with everyone? Hannah is being tested for special ed pre-k next week. She didn't get in last time, but we hope she will this time since she is almost a year behind in some motor skills, she's still a little behind in speech, and her OT just diagnosed her with Sensory Integration Dysfunction. It is a free program, so it will save us a bundle on daycare. Please keep your fingers crossed! My hubby hurt his back at work and goes to see a specialist tomorrow. Hopefully it's nothing serious. I still hate my job. But other than that...not much new here! [:p]

Hey Suzanne, not much new here either. Just work, work and more work. It has turned Leslie into a dull girl. I am going skiing in Utah in March and am so looking forward to that. I'm also looking forward to having Mardi Gras day off. With my office being downtown, it would be impossible to get there. Are you guys still considering a move? Got my fingers crossed that Hannah gets into the program, and that your DH's back is OK. I've had back pain before, and until you have had it, you can't imagine how painful it is. Good luck to ya.

Hi, Leslie! Good to hear from you! I forgot how big of a deal Mardi Gras is in Mobile! I remember the kids used to get out of school for it! I always had to work during the parades, so I never got to go. As far as a move, we are putting that on hold. We had the option to transfer to South Carolina for Josh's job, but the pay wasn't enough. It's just as well, because my parents have both been having health problems lately, and my little sister is getting married in July, so I'm helping her plan the wedding. Plus, I'm fighting to get Hannah in this special needs pre-k, so if she gets in, I don't want to move. By the way, have you heard from Maya's mom? I was waiting to hear news about the baby.

Yes, she's due I think March 2. After I posted the question I looked at earlier posts. For some reason I was thinking January. By the way - how are you doing? Have you been back to see the docs in MS or at USA again?

I'm still here. I am going to the doctor in about 5 minutes. I am now 35 weeks and each week my numbers creep up just enough to look like I'm heading for pre-e again. My dr. said that if I can make it to 37 weeks we will discuss inducing to keep pre-e from setting in again. I am just glad that I've made it this far. I will let you know how things go at the dr. visit.

Suzanne, I hope Hannah gets into the class. I am so looking forward to the day that I no longer have to pay for daycare.

Leslie, skiing in Utah sounds great, not that I know how to ski, but just getting away from work would be wonderful.

I’ve been able to stay away from drs. for almost 6 mos. now. I’m afraid my run will come to an end soon, however, as I’m almost out of bp meds and have a feeling that they won’t just call in a refill. Anyway, it was good while it lasted. I’m not ready to admit that was are TTC, but we are not preventing anything either. If it happens, it happens. I kind of like that approach, except for the 2 wks a month that I long for a cold beer.

Hi girls,
I'm glad to hear everyone is doing ok. I have been extra busy with work - it's getting to be that crazy time of the school year again! Emily Kate is doing great. She turned 16 months old on the 23rd. She's having fun walking (and running!!) and getting in to everything. We are hoping to hear new words soon... we have been saying "mama", "dada" and "nana" for several months now, but haven't expanded our vocab. much more. I know more words will come in time.

We need to get together sometime and discuss some ways to get our name out there.

I'm back from my dr. appt. and I have good news. My bp was normal and only had a slight trace of protein! I had some contractions yesterday so my dr. checked to see if my cervix had dilated and it has not. So maybe I will make it after all. I have never experienced this part of pregnancy before and I am so miserable, but if being miserable means I have a chance at having a full term baby I think I can deal with it.
