You did such a (fill in all positive and extremely encouraging adjectives here) job with your WAT! These great events cannot happen without committed, creative and passionate volunteers such as yourself and all the others that have hosted WATs last year and this year! Hats off to all making a difference!

Santa Barbara WAT Results!! - Updated 5/29

Well, I am in tears as I write this... AWESOME JOB CALIFORNIA!!!! Not only did we bring some much-needed attention to this disease, we also raised more than $6000!!!!!!!! The total that I have right now is $6185 but we have a few more donations coming in!

I don't have the exact number of walkers yet but I believe it to be right about 100 (not including kids), I'll have to go count extra T-Shirts.

Thank you so much to everyone that participated and all those that couldn't but sent us their well-wishes. The day was more than I could have ever hoped for. I had to catch my breath as I watched a sea of white T-shirts fill up our path. It was quite the site, I know that we are making a difference here.

I have to share a little story - as walkers were coming back and we were starting to clean up/break down the area, a woman pushing her son in a stroller approached my husband and I and asked what was going on. Turns out that she had preeclampsia with her son, he was born 8.5 weeks early. She didn't know about the event and was on her way somewhere else, but she said that something told her that she should walk through the park instead of her planned route. So she did and there we were...

Walkers are sending me their pictures so when I get them all, I'll post some pics.

Thank you again so much to everyone, THANK YOU!!!!!

Now, get ready for next year!!
