New to Oregon

Hi Everyone,
My family moved to Oregon about 5 months ago from Florida. We have an 18 month old son that was born at 29 weeks and weighed 2 lb 4 oz. I was wondering if anyone has received treatment for their child through the Early Intervention Program in Oregon. If yes, how did you like the results?

Hi and welcome! Where are you located in Oregon? Were in eastern Oregon.

Corvalis hey, I dont think I have been there at least not more than passing through that is.

As far as the Early Intervention Program I havent dealt with them personally but have heard of others who have, I will see if I can find out more information about how they liked it.

I am in Medford Oregon. Currently I am studying Community Health, and I am following families with high risk or special needs infants. Many of our clients recieve Early Intervention services. This can be an excellent resource for families. I have several clients who have children with diagnoses such as cerebral palsy, gastroesophogeal reflux w/failure to thrive, endocrine problems that utilize Early Intervention and I know they are glad to have it. I have not utilized it myself here in OR because my children were born and raised in CA during their early preemiehood. Services in CA are amazing compared to what they are here in OR, as far as access and availability.
