30 Week update

Postby anathor21 » Wed Aug 03, 2005 07:59 am

Had our weekly appt yesterday - things are looking stable, which is good!

24hr came back at 290 - slightly up but not being considered a new problem.

Platelets are slightly up too, which is encouraging as it supports the "normal variance" theory of why they fell in the first place. As we get more measurements over the next few weeks I suppose we'll know more on that, but I think this is quite positive (at least it makes us feel better).

Rest of blood work looked good.

BP in dr office was excellent - although we actually have a hard time believing it given that our home readings are remaining rather consistent and significantly higher than office readings. Best theory that I can come up with there is that her BP may be following some sort of "high in morning, lower during day, high in evening" pattern. I don't check during the day (at work). But in any case, as long as our readings don't go up much and not other symptoms start to present themselves we won't worry.

So, we're back to watch and wait, heh. Nerve wracking perhaps, but better than the alternatives. Next scheduled appt in 8 days... Looking forward to celebrating crossing over the "Isabel line" [:)]

Yippie, yippie! This is good (minus the 24, which does appear to up some). Well, I too will keep my fingers crossed (and say my prayers) that your son will make it to (& well beyond) the Isabel line!

Thanks for the update!! And you sir, keep up the good work!

Doesn't sound like it is quite time to "freak out", but the 400 mg/dl from the 24h test is discouraging. My wife had both the high protein and blood pressure, so I can't offer much insight into your current situation, sorry.

It's good that you and your doctor team are closely monitoring the situation and I would encourage you to just stay on a heightened alert status. The 2x/week NSTs is a good thing and should give you continued peace of mind during the remainder of the pregnancy.

Keep asking your doctors' very specific questions related to what to be on the look-out for at home, keep you wife calm and focus on keeping the baby safely tucked away for as long as possible. Good work so far and continued good luck!

P.S. One of our twins (our daughter, Frankie) did fine during the NSTs, our son Sammy, however, loved to kick the monitor.
