New Hospital tour

I hope this is ok to post here. I'm not in anyway promoting, just thought it might be fun for some of us to see. The New hospital that they are building in Murray will be having an open house on Sept 28-29. They'll have valet parking and shuttles. The directions I have say it is accessible from I-15 at the 5300 South exit. The map I have looks like it is up near State street and 5300 S in back of Costco. Woodrow St and Intermountain Dr, both off of 5300 S go over to it.

I'm going to try and go to the open house. It'll give me something to do while I wait for this baby to grow.

I heard something about this on the radio, and it sounds pretty cool!

From what I have heard, the major private insurance company here in Utah (not sure if I'm allowed to say it [;)]) is wanting this to be the new "big" hospital in SLC for traumas, emergencies, etc. The central valley location is supposed to cut down on response times and take some of the burden from that other big hosptial - you know the one near the Avenues that is owned by the same company, and is named after the predominant religion in the area. You know, "the-hopstial-which-must-not-be-named"? [:p]

Boo, if you end up going let us know what you think! I'm particularly interested in what their MFM and NICU situation is going to be like - although since we don't have that magical, three letter initialed insurance, I'll probably never go there anyway. [:)]

Thanks so much for the info... I know which one we are all taking about *giggle*... I've been watching and waiting to see the GRAND opening...

Side note... that's my favorite Costco btw! My mom and I go there on the weekends and make a day of it ;)

I went to the open house for the Newer hospital up in Ogden and it was cool to see. I also got to tour the Primary Childrens hospital when I was 13 (shows how old I am). I have a family full of Dr's and nurses so I always find out about all the new medical stuff happening.

I have my "BIG" ultrasound up in the avenues on the 28th so after that I think I'll go down there. It's further away from where I'm going and usually go but hopefully, it will be easier to get to from the interstate. I'll let you all know what I think of the MFM and NICU. The whole MFM department will no longer be at the other, not to be named, hospital.
