induce b/c of chronic hypertension?
I was just told today by my doctor that she normally prefers to induce hypertensive patients early (to avoid preeclampsia). In my case, she wants to schedule an induction 1 week early -- I am currently @ 36 weeks. I was diagnosed with hypertension about 4-5 years ago, so I do have chronic hypertension and I am currently on Labetalol. For the last week I have had very mild headaches intermittently (mainly at base of head/neck or behind my eyes)...majority of my pregnancy I have had little to no headaches, except the 1st few weeks of pregnancy. And I have had a few bouts of nausea the last week as well...along with just feeling "icky"...not to mention swelled feet (which I assumed to be normal) So, I'm not sure if it is "over-kill" for my doctor to want to induce just to try and avoid preeclampsia or not...?
