Howdy... (is there an echo here?)

I live in northern RI. I am using a regular OBGYN but I go to the best hospital in the state so I feel good about that. An attending delivered my baby last time since it was an emergency and i was already in the hospital being monitored. I have switched to a single dr this time because I did not like my having to see a different Dr each visit (my group had 8 Drs) I did not feel like my care was being managed very well.

Greetings Kate!

We're in MA - west of Boston a bit (about an hour). Not currently expecting (whew - three is enough to keep our house hopping 24/7 right now!).

Hoping to see some other folks in this general area drop in and say hello... Northern RI is very close to us... We've actually headed your way to shop and eat a few times - would not be too far in my book to travel if we ever got a group together to meet, greet, and swap stories, but would want to see if there was enough interest to build critical mass.

Anyone else out there?

Anyone else from this area headed to the conference in two weeks?

I am from MA..though I have always lived here. I am not currently expecting. I just lost my baby boy 3 weeks ago at 23 weeks to HELLP syndrome. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one in MA. I'm hoping to as soon as we are emotionally back on track to try again. I see the high risk specialist at **** next week to see what he thinks of our future family. I know my angel baby is watching over us and will always be apart of our family no matter what.

So sorry to hear about your loss. I've been lucky enough to not experience a loss myself so I can't fully relate, but I can imagine that the pain must be terrible.

We aren't the only ones in MA - I figure for every person who actually posts here there must be a significant number who are just reading and not posting (lurkers). Howdy to all you lurkers! You are welcome here too! [:)]

It's sort of funny to me though - I started this thread almost a year ago and it is just now picking up some steam. I'm glad to see it - at the time I was wondering if there were any MA PF members at all...

Hi there everyone-
I guess you could call me a lurker.. I check this site out every so often. I am not pg now and will not be again, however had 2 preemies asa result of severe PE.. my first was 28 weeks and 2nd was 34 weeks.. I deliverd my daughter at NEMC and my 2nd at BIDMC after I searched out a high risk OBGYN specializing in hypertension.. I read this site to remind me of how lucky I am to have weathered the storms of the NICU with both my kids.

I now still have high BP and am taking medication for it and it is def. under control. I live about 13miles south of Boston.. Anyone near Hanson?

Hope to chat some more .. :)

My name is Annette and my husband and I are currently TTC# 3. My daughter Ava was born still at 37 weeks last March. I developed pre-e and HELLP during labor with Ava. The doctors called it silent pre-e because I only showed signs of it after I went into labor. I also suffered a miscarriage in January at 10 weeks. I have FVL and MTHFR and developed a large blod clot in my lung three weeks after Ava was born. So that in addition to the pre-e and HELLP makes me pretty high risk. I am at **** in Boston with the same doctor I saw while pregnant with Bean. I'm praying that the third time is a charm for us. We have waited a long time to hold a healthy baby in our arms.

Hi, I am coming out of lurking to introduce myself and greet anyone who might be reading. I live in Central Massachusetts and have had pre-e twice, the first time was 13 years ago when I was pregnant with my son Evan, now 12. In that instance, my pre-e was mild and I was induced at 37 weeks. During my most recent pregnancy, which was this year, I developed severe pre-e, and I had to have my daughter Annabella by emergency c-section on June 17 at 33 weeks. She was 3 lbs., 5 oz. at birth. I also had a miscarriage in between the two pre-e pregnancies. I am writing to connect with others in Massachusetts who have gone through this (pregnancy complications) and/or are going through it now. Hope to hear from you!
