I recently had to give birth due to the HELLP Syndrome. I woke up one morning and had pain in my right shoulder and neck. I thought it was because I slept wrong or just pulled a muscle. For approx. five days I was in terrible pain sleeping was not happening. I was able to use a heating pad and it would take some of the pain away and I could sleep for a while. On July 11, right after the pain was starting to subside, I started having some pain in my stomach. I thought it was due to my stomach stretching. I was at 26 1/2 weeks. I placed a pillow under my stomach and went to sleep. My boyfriend had to wake up early that morning at 5:30am so I woke up with him. I still had some pain, but it wasnt too bad. I then began to get sick. I started burping and then had to run to the bathroom to throwup. I dry heived while I was throwing up and after I had this terrible throbbing pain which I thought was from dry heiving. I tried several things, but it did not work. The pain was in my upper abdominal and it was a weird feeling. It just was thrubbing in that area. I went to my doctor and he checked my pressure and my protein in my urine. My pressure was good and I had some protein to which they said is normal. He advised that it was prob. my gallbladder and sent me home with medication. I went home and got some sleep. The doctor told me to eat no fat and take the medication. I of course didn't listen and went and got breakfast from mcdonalds. I figured the nexium would work. During sleeping I was awaken with terrible pain and contacted my doctor. Of coursed he fussed at me for what I ate and told me to go to the hospital and get a pain drip for my gallbladder and they would perform some scans. I did what I was told and upon getting to the hospital they asked for a urine screen. Upon supplying the urine screen my urine was the color of coke. I then began to become extremely scared. I could see the nurses faces which scared me even more. Upon checking my pressure it was 191/99. My doctor was contacted immediately and I was sent to ******* I was told I would have to deliver and they did not give my son a chance to live. I had already been seeing specialist due to my baby not growing properly and he at 26 weeks he was only measuring at 21 weeks. I had a disease that caused blood clots in the placenta so I was taking lovenox once a day to which I had already taken. Once at **** I was suppose to go to emergency surgery to take my son, but due to the shot I was unable to and would have bled to death. The next day they continued to check my platlets which were declining. They had to wait 24 hrs for the lovenox to get out of my system to do surgery. I had taken the medication at approx. 2pm on July 12. On July 13 at approx. 2pm they took a platlet count and I was rushed to surgery. My last known platlet count that I could remember was 51. I begged them to keep me awake, but was told there was no way I would die. At that point they gave him a 5-10% chance of survival. I begged please let me see my son alive just once. I didn't care if I died my son was more important. Of course I was told no and rushed to surgery. My son Aiden Andrew Price was born at 15:56 and only weighing 11.5 ounces. I woke up in ICU to learn my son was still living. Words could not explain how I felt at that time. I was unable to go see him due to my condition. Pictures were brought to me and he appeared to be a perfect angel. On July 14 I was moved out of ICU and was able to go see him. He was the most perfect angel. He was moving and everything seemed to be fine. I was able to touch him. We stayed with Aiden as long as we could. I got out of the hospital on the Friday. We made Frequent trips to the hospital and stayed with him many hours. For a week and a half Aiden did wonderful. One night he took and turn, but we expected it and took it with stride. He started coming back and everything was doing great. All of a sudden things got worse he kept losing oxygen and they had to bag him to get him back. On July 31, 2008 I lost the most important thing in my life. Aiden passed and life as I knew it ended. All I wanted was a child. Before being pregnant I was told I had PCOS which cause infertility. I had to take fertility drugs to have him. Aiden was the most important thing in my life. I quess God needed a perfect angel and he was chosen. I will never know, but please if you have any pain that you feel uncomfortable with go to the hospital. I don't know what would have happen to me if I wouldn't have went. Yes my child did die, but if you don't go you can die and your chances of your child surviving is worse. Thank you for reading my story sorry it is long, but I refuse to let Aiden fade away. To know him for the short time he was here was like heaven on earth. I thank God everyday for me surviving and giving me a chance to know my son for the short time he was on earth. To everyone that is pregnant on this site may God bless your pregnancy and keep you and your baby safe.
