Preeclampsia Ignorance on my health insurance website!!!

Postby celticepona » Thu Mar 24, 2011 01:22 pm

Hello There. Im not sure where to put this post so I placed it here. I just filled out a pregnancy survey on my health insurance's website. They asked if I had had any previous pregnancy complications. They asked about high blood pressure, diabetes, incompetent cervic, etc...but no where was there any mention of PE...not even the outdated word "toxemia." I couldn't beleive it. So I checked the "other complications" box. SINCE WHEN IS PREECLAMPSIA CONSIDERED IN THE "OTHER" CATEGORY????? Sorry...its this ignorance that makes my blood boil. Thank God for this foundation. :)

I wonder if they're using "high blood pressure" as a catch-all for all hypertensive pregnancy disorders, including PE? I get your frustration, but maybe they're actually progressive ;) .
