I am currently 31 weeks pregnant. At 28 weeks, my 24 hour urine test came back at 435. My doctor sent me to the hospital to be on bedrest and to do bloodwork and retest my urine. My blood work all came back normal. I was given 2 rounds of steriods. After a week on bed rest, my urine was retested and came back around 290. I was sent home on bed rest. Three days later, I had a BPP ultrasound and regular office visit. The dipstick test in the office showed trace amounts of protein. I did another 24 hour urine test at home and the results came back around 350. My doctor has now sent me back to the hospital on bed rest.
I have not had any issues with my blood pressure. Most of the time it is around 116/60, occasionally 125/80. Last night it was 130/86. I have not had headaches, swelling, blurry vision, etc. I asked my doctor this morning when we will be retesting everything. She said that we will do blood work and BPPs every week. I then asked about the urine testing, since that was the reason I was there, and she said it all depends on my blood pressure. She said to plan on being in the hospital on bed rest indefinitely.
Is this customary to keep someone in the hospital on bed rest when blood pressure is normal and protein levels are on the extremely low end of high?
