That's how far we made it! Yesterday I went in for my routine non-stress test and AFL reading and even though baby boy's NST looked good, he had virtually NO fluid. So my doctors decided that it would be best to schedule a repeat c-section.

Noah Grey was born at 6:27pm... he is HUGE at 6lbs 3oz (anything is bigger than our first who weighed in at 2lbs 8oz). He has been able to latch and breastfeed a little bit and just looks perfect.

I was sad to have to have a repeat c-section until I heard him cry and then I was so glad it was all over. I never developed super high blood pressure or protein in urine. I am still being watched hardcore and I resumed my heparin for the next 6 weeks, but I feel so glad to be on the other side of the hump. It makes me miss our Mason so so much, but I am so thankful that I was able to get so far along and meet Noah so happy and healthy.

Thank you ladies for all of your support... I honestly don't think I would have been brave enough to try again without all the knowledge and help I found on this forum.

Can you tell me what NST and AFL stand for?

sorry! NST means non-stress test and AFL are the amniotic fluid levels. Once you get sucked into the doctor lingo, you forget to to say their full names.

Oh my goodness! What a cutie pie. Look at that hair! Well, I'm sorry that you didn't get the vbac you wanted, but I know you're just happy he's here and healthy. It's great that they were monitoring you closely.

Let me ask... how are you feeling? How much different is a C-section without pre-e pain-wise? It's great that he's nursing! So happy for you.

a c-section without pre-e or a preemie is crazy different! The entire birthing experience was so relaxed. There were hardly any people at the surgery (no nicu team or specialists) and the sense of urgency was not there. My doctors were smiling and listening to music like they were celebrating a birthday (which they were)! The weirdest part was being strapped down to the table and looking over at my blood pressure at 105/65 and knowing that this was going to be a completely different delivery. Felt like a dream come true!

I am still looking at this baby and having so much trouble believing that he is ours. All of those scans and shots and bp readings and doctors appointments.... and here he is! I just want to stare at him for the rest of my life. I have not slept since he was born because I just want to make sure he doesn't stop breathing. He is the sweetest little thing. Holding him makes me miss his brother so so much, but I am so lucky to have this little guy in my arms.
