MFM recommendation in Boston area and what to ask?

Postby lemons » Wed Feb 01, 2012 01:31 pm

Hi all,

I'm new to the forum but have been coming here for support and information since my daughter was born premature (2lbs 9oz in October 2010) due to preeclampsia and IUGR. After a long ride in the NICU, she came home and today, she is a happy, healthy 15 month old. I am finally ready to think about TTC again and I am interested in seeing an MFM for a preconception visit. Does anyone have any recommendations for a good MFM with an interest in PE that practices in the Boston area? And does anyone have any recommendations as to how best to prepare for the appointment and what questions to ask?

Thanks,
Diana

HI Diana,

We are not allowed to post any doc/hospital recommendations, but I can send you a PM. I am in the Boston area, and have an MFM whom I really like.

Caryn, Jamie and I share the same MFM! :D

Diana, I just sent you a message. Will find my notes of my previous consult and will send it over to you!

This is a post where I summed up my questions that I had prepared for the MFM pre-consultation.

Thanks Julija! Sounds like I have a good place to start with and MFM!
And thanks for the link to your post about preparing for the visit. It is very helpful.
I also found another post that had a long list of questions to ask. I have a bit of preparing to do!

Coolness! I was trying to get you more than one MFM to interview, but sounds like you might not need that!

Thanks Caryn! I really appreciate it! I actually saw a different MFM last time around for issues not related to PE. She was great, but not a PE expert and that is why I was looking for a recommendation. And it looks like I have a good one :) Now to make the phone call....
