Scared right now

Postby mymiracles2 » Thu Feb 16, 2012 09:44 am

So, update...went to my OBGYN, who said that he would take me on - he now doesn't feel comfortable. he wants me to see the MFM, which would be fine except my last encounter with this man was horrible. He was judgmental, not supportive and made me feel as though I was committing a crime for wanting an additional child. I am kind freaking out right now. In addition, my husband is really nervous, keeps talking about losing me.....Just need a friendly voice out there somewhere :(

I am so sorry that you have to go through this, my husband has been nervous too, he wont let me be at home by myself any more. Is there any chance you can see a different MFM, there is no reason you should see some one who is not supportive of your decision! I just switched my regular OB and I'm 33 weeks on Saturday and everyone at the hospital understood, I need someone who will care for me in the way I feel comfortable with. Wishing you the best!

Is there possibly another MFM in your area? That seems out of character for an MFM. I would find out if there is another MFM in the office where the one you have already seen is, if so, see if you could see the other doctor. There is a website for finding MFMs-www.smfm.org. You might check it out for some assistance in location a new MFM. I understand your not wanting to work with someone who is not supportive. After having PE and HELLP, I most definitely wanted people in my corner who were going to give me the best support and care possible. And I feel I have that. My MFM is amazing and so is my OB.

Don't give up hope, just try to do some research and possibly move on. Or maybe the MFM was having bad day when you saw him last (although that is no excuse). And as for your husband, I think that comes with the territory, they have seen it first-hand and don't want things to happen to us. My husband was the same way. Keep us posted. Shannon

Thanks for the encouraging words :) I really needed them! I have called the MFM to set up an appointment and will see what happens from there. I just don;t want to be judged you know? as for my husband, I guess I should feel thankful that he is worried, just wish things were a bit different. Will keep you updated

We just found out we're pregnant and my husband is very nervous. So, I can relate. Hood luck finding a MFM. It's so important for you to feel comfortable.
10/17/2011 ~ Mychael Elaine was born sleeping. We miss and will always love you!
9/16/2012 ~ Michael Leon was born, God is so good! Severe pre-e again, induced at 34 weeks, c-section due to baby's heart decelerating with each contraction. 1 week in NICU. I'm done! :)
