Thank you... actually he is a boy, our sweet son John Jr. (baby Jack)... He's doing well in the NICU; my BP is still showing a few high readings (still on two meds) but mostly normal ones... everyone is sure I will now have permanent chronic hypertension. I have been a sobbing mess worried about my baby, worried they made the wrong call and he should have been left inside me for longer, but I know he's in good hands with this NICU... he seems to be a feisty little fighter so we're praying he will be okay.

That decision, right there, is why MFMs get paid the big bucks. If you ask, I'm sure that your doc will be able to tell you why they decided to move to delivery. Like I said, for me, it was a sudden BIG decel in my son's heartrate, one where the rebound took more time than it should have. Often they are better out than in; the placenta just isn't functioning properly. Often you are really far sicker than you feel and your kidneys just aren't functioning properly, or your bloodwork is showing ominous signs.

Give little Jack a snuggle from all of us when you get to hold him!
