Congratulations to Kara Boeldt, our 2009 Volunteer of the Year!
Kara is no stranger to this forum community, having served as a moderator for several years. In addition, her volunteerism goes on to include serving as the 2009 National Walk Coordinator (and has graciously agreed to chair this important event next year as well); chairing her own local Awareness Walk in Wisconsin, and initiating several community based awareness and health care provider education events at her local hospital. Along with Denise Lang, she also developed a vibrant local group that meetings reguarly, providing peer-to-peer support and organizing local events.
You can read more about Kara in the volunteer profile that was featured in the Department of Health and Human Services Office of Women's Health June newsletter.
Please join the Board of Directors, the rest of the Foundation's staff, volunteers and me in congratulating Kara on her well-deserved honor. She'll be accepting the award at Saving Grace - A Night of Hope on Oct. 24 in Chicago.
Many thanks to all those who submitted nominations this year and to the efforts of the Volunteer of the Year committee. As always, the Preeclampsia Foundation succeeds largely through the hard work and important contributions of our volunteers! Too numerous to list you all, but each one is making a difference every day!
